And I am so glad I did. The form factor is far better, it's lighter, the display is epic, the crease is nearly non-existent, the battery is superb and holding the device in the hand is great. It's easily pocketable and is very snappy to use, very responsive and so far, I cannot say enough great things about it. I had questions about the camera but for standard photography, I really can't complain. I don't use a zoom lens so I don't miss the added camera in the Fold 8 Ultra. Superb all round device!

The size is perfect, it fits into your hand and looks right. Then you open it up and it transforms, pictures, video and books just fit the this screen ratio. The hinge works better than the Fold 7, opening easier and snaps open. The crease I have forgotten about. I didn't notice it on the Fold 7, but the screen is so much better. I never thought the Fold 7 was a slouch but the 8 seems so much more smoother and responsive. One UI 9 has some great improvements and the integration with the AI makes tasks and work flow so much easier.

However, in the end I opted for the Z Fold 8 because the form factor felt different. I am obsessed with how good this phone is to use just with the external screen and use that easily 80% but possibly 90% of the time. The battery is currently lasting me 2 days which is outstanding for such a small form factor. The foldable screen once opened is then truly something special. The phone is brilliantly responsive between screens and feels seamless. The camera is really only average when trying to zoom, but for normal photos of subjects nearby is perfectly acceptable.

The the passport size came along, yes a little larger than the flip 7, but omg the size is just perfect, the display is great and bright, battery is night and day to my old flip 7 and the hinge just feels more premium and it fis in my pocket. It's the perfect middle ground and know am going to continue to love this phone.

I was at first cautious when using the inside larger screen due to older folding screens feeling delicate but the durability has been massively improved. The battery life of the phone is very comparable if not better than my previous phone, the iphone 16 plus which i got the larger size for the battery, so i dont have to be worried about using the new phone for productivity and media streaming all day and still have charge left until i go to sleep.

My Lavander colour tiny piece of tech Fold 8 is a masterpiece indeed 🫠 The "passport phone" stays charged almost 20 hours, fits perfectly in my hands ( girl hands, btw) , and now I have turned it pink all over, from the cover, to the screen 😄 I can't remember since I have written messages with both hands, and I love it . They're uncomfortable and impractical. This is the perfect form factor - so easy to hold, and the large folded out screen is amazing. Most importantly, it's a true joy to use folded as well because the screen is a perfect size. Feels great in the pocket too. So far the hinge has only creased a little so I just hope it's durable over time. If so, it's perfect. Not gone below 50% battery with moderate use on both screens, including games. Samsung, kudos. With the ultra the screen is too narrow and i feel i need to open it more than i should. The crease is barely visible at the moment which is great. Not sure how this will be over time. Battery life is good last me the day. The hinge is very keen not sure im confortable with the forceful opening. Its alot lighter than my previous phone so durability is yet to be determined. But with this being so light im worried for how it would stand up to being dropped. With the 1tb 16gb it feel rapid when it comes to responsiveness.

The battery holds up well considering I've been on it all the time and it is yet to improve still. I would love to see Samsung Dex running natively on the inner display, it would be a total game changer, I also feel this form factor deserves the reintroduction of the sPen on the foldables, the cover screen is perfect for scribbling notes and the inner display for the inner artist. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] it's without doubt the greatest phone I've ever had, the dimensions of the new shape make it extremely small and pocketable, it becomes a mini tablet and it's the proportions. I've always had fold phones but they never quite worked perfectly. I've still like them however, due to being great multitaskers but this is on a different level when it comes to productivity and how you use the phone whether vertically or in landscape and it is just an absolutely fantastic device, super light, a good battery, it's a brilliant all-rounder and I play a lot of SimCity so from that perspective it's perfect. I've also linked my gaming backbone controller which isn't the perfect fit as you need to open the screen slightly to allow it which is a bit of a shame. However, it's still a fantastic device and a brilliant all-rounder. I think next year Samsung shoulo consider making this a premium device or at least equal to the Ultra, it needs to sort the cameras out. I know this was the test case but you've now quickly learned that this is the popular one so fix the cameras and you are winning.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've upgraded from the S24 Ultra and despite some initial reservations about the durability and form factor, I've been proven wrong and couldn't be happier with the device. This form factor feels like the way forward. Amazing display. I had some reservations about the 4:3 aspect ratio but every app I've used so far displays perfectly, and is fully responsive. Apps such as Strava definitely look better when the device is unfolded and in portrait orientation. Overall, the shorter form factor makes the decice way more portable. I would caveat this with I do prefer the font on my device quite small, I think if you prefer larger font sizes you may lose some screen real estate. Typing on the keyboard is also very comfortable. I've found I actually use the device closed more than I do unfolded. When I do unfold the device; it's fantastic for media consumption; YouTube, gaming, reading all 10/10 and I'm also pleased with the battery life, the fast charging tops up the battery quickly, this was another of my main worries moving from the S24 Ultra. When folding and unfolding the hinge and durability overall is surprisingly strong, to the point where the device also works with external wrap around controllers, such as the GameSir X-5 making this device a real powerhouse for game streaming.

The format just works and feels perfect in your hand. Once you open up to the main screen something you don't notice, if you're looking for it, is the crease. The technology used to reduce the visibility and feel of the crease is a huge step forward, as is the anti reflective coating and brightness of the screen. The battery has been a great upgrade (coming from z fold 6). Camera is great. It has been joy to use. The phone seems durable too. And the hinge seems solid. And the crease compared to before is definitely an upgrade. The new chip as well makes the phone powerful for gaming and responsive in day to day stuff. Overall it is absolutely great.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The "Goldilocks" phone - not too big, not too small, just right. Not so techie it's too expensive, but also not missing anything you really need. Fits in your pocket but folds out to a perfect media consumption platform. Battery life is genuinely insane. Regularly finish the day with over 40% despite heavy usage. Software has a few minor imperfections but I'm sure updates will fix that over time.

The new spring-loaded hinge is so satisfying; it feels like I'm opening it for the first time every time. The aspect ratio display is perfect. The inner screen feels a lot more sturdy and durable, which is always good, and the battery is noticeably better. Coming from the Z Fold 6, the jump from only two generations definitely feels like a massive leap for the better.

Been loving my Galaxy Flip since the first edition and upgrading it every year. Didn't expect to say this but after experiencing the Fold8 hands-on, it seems it's time to switch it up. Much slimmer and lighter than I expected, sitting super well in one hand. The real magic was unfolding it (unexpectedly I do appreciate that extra screen space) which made my little scroll through my favourite dog content so much better. Always loved how the Flex Mode on my Flip made every selfie session with my niece and dog so much more fun (and stable) by using the main camera and outside screen and now with the Fold8 camera... chef's kiss :)

Reason why it wasn't a 5/5 because of the Camera downgrade from my previous fold 7. If the camera is improved for next year's upgrade, I'll definitely look into that.

Great battery life too easily last the whole day with heavy usage. Fingerprint reader is as quick as it can be. Anti reflective screen protector however should be there straight from the box.

I am a knitter so being able to see my patterns clearly I needed the ability to adjust the size of the font. The display is amazing, and by pinching outwards, with two fingers, I can get to the desired size.The phone is responding quickly to tasks. The hinge feels safe and secure. I don't have any worries about durability due to having the zflip previously. I can honestly say that I do not notice the crease at all, and I watch alot of videos on my phone. I also love the fact that the front screen is user friendly too, if you don't want to unfold. Overall I am really impressed with my new phone. By the way I am 57 years old, and if I can use it anyone can. I would highly recommend, especially if you are into social media, as the shape of the screen, when opened out is perfect! Battery life appears to be good, although I have only had my phone a few days. Charges very quickly.

I have got the s25 ultra, its absolutely amazing, honestly I was considering the 17pro max, pixel 10 pro xl, and the s25 ultra for over 3 months, and did lots of comparisons, all were good products, but by far the s25 ultra blows everything out of the water, its the king of all phones.
