While it's not a huge leap, the improvements are noticeable in everyday use. Battery life is definitely better, and I can comfortably make it through the day without worrying about charging. The cameras also produce noticeably better photos, especially in lower light and with more natural colors. Performance is fast and smooth, and the overall experience feels more refined. If you're coming from a Fold 7, it's an incremental upgrade, but one that has been worth it for me.

I chose it because I love the ability to use it open or closed. The Fold 8 Ultra is so much thinner than my old Fold phone and the screen is even brighter and looks amazing. I am always showing it off and telling everyone how great it is. I will never choose another type of phone and I will always choose Samsung products. I got the Bud4 Pro, the Watch 9 and the Ultra2. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Came from the Fold7. I wasn't sure if the upgrade would be worth it, but despite how incremental it is, it makes for a far more complete device! The hinge mechanism is far smoother and easier to open. The screen brightness boost makes a big difference (as does the anti-reflective layer on the inner screen) and the ultra wide camera upped to 50px really does make for more detailed photos. The faster charging is great too, I really notice it when in a rush to top up (though the battery is lasting longer already, the extra MAh really help). Plus the Shadow Green colourway is gorgeous. My favourite colour anyway, so it was a no brainer!

This phone is very thing and much lighter than my S24 Ultra. It opens a whole new way of using a phone. Unfolded you can multitask with more apps open and with some apps expanding further. I can't praise this phone enough and there's no way I could go back to a slab phone. The outer display isn't quite as wide and the hight of my S24 Ultra but it's not much. I expect this will eventually change in future models My life cycle with phones is 2 year it'll be Fold 10 for me.

I find it so easy to work with as a student I also find the speaker quality really well placed. I do have a few suggestions for the ultra designers and maybe a innovative ideas suited to better position of electrical components within devices after ownership of Z Fold 7 and 8 ultra. And I have trialed the 8, I also have some really good suggestions for the next 9 , 10 etc. If Samsung Galaxy teams would be interested to hear.

It's so slim that, despite being a foldable, its thickness is very similar to a regular flagship phone when folded. The phone is much easier to open, and has a satisfying spring to open and close. It feels like it opens flatter in the hand and at least for now, the crease can hardly be felt. Hope it stays like this for the duration. Battery has been very impressive given I havet even fully charged it since getting it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I chose the z fold 8 ultra because of screen and battery improvements. I send a lot of emails and spend a lot of time sending slack messages. This phone has allowed me to multi cast and 2 both at the same time. 80% or more of the day is me being on my phone for work when I'm away from the desk. The battery last all day and the quality and brightness of the screen allows for me to do everything I can do on a computer to now do it on the phone. Outside of work I play racing games and gotcha games with the large screen size and the response time are on par with playing on a pc. This phone allows for me to control my house ecosystem.

Samsung did it again, great improvement, specially with the hinge as you can not see the fold on the screen at all.👏 That 's beside improvement with performance and AI, also the battery , and the ultra wide rear camera. I've had a Z Fold 5 phone for years now and loved it up to the minute I switched to the Z Fold 8 Ultra. My 5 never stopped working, never let me down, and was the best phone I've ever had... but I read about the new features and streamlined design of the 8 ultra and decided it was time to trade in and upgrade. With each passing year they get sleaker.. more powerful and lighter while not skimping on quality. I will continue to choose samsung as long as they continue to strive for excellence and customer satisfaction. I just can't understand why the camera sticking out the way it does continues year after year. You can hardly see the crease in the screen, picture quality is amazing. The camera takes such lovely photos and it's so nice being able to turn to the larger screen when wanting to read a interesting article or watch a video. The phone is a lot thinner and less bulky than previous models making it absolutely perfect. The upgraded cameras are a huge bonus and makes it worth every penny. The screen and sound quailty is phenomenal and watching films or playing games is amazing. I wish it had a stylus but that doesn't take away from how great this phone is. Love the violet colour as well.

The only 2 features of my husband's S26 ultra that I wish the zfold 8 ultra had is the included S pen and the privacy screen setting.

Fold 7 was tempting but the lacklustre battery life held me back. Finally this year, the fold 8 and fold 8 ultra addressed the battery life issue with keeping the same slim physical silhouette. I choose the fold 8 ultra because I wanted the better camera, even though the fold 8 form factor was very tempting. I will miss the s-pen sorely but I am loving the large main screen and how thin the phone feels in my hands. I also got the watch ultra 2 to go along with the phone.

Build quality is phenomenal, feels solid and well built. Love all the little touches with the software as well. Only thing I very much dislike is the speakers. Can't use speaker phone, which is how I normally always take calls. Volume is so soft and the speakers occasionally make crackling noise. S25 ultra was far superior in this aspect. Other than that I'm relatively satisfied.

Now that I have pulled the trigger and jumped back into the Fold, so far I'm loving it. This is my daily phone and I use it for surfing the web, watching videos, banking, just about everything, small when I want it to be and bigger when I need bigger. I might just be ditching the Ultra line, time will tell.

The chip is rapid, multi-tasking is a breeze, the display is amazing and the battery is decent. People mention the visable 'crease' but it genuinely doesn't affect the display. It feels durable and i am not worried about the hinge like I thought I would be. The only thing I have noticed is a lack of me using the front screen!

When I received my device I was genuinely surprised and impressed by its larger main display and larger inner display. When I put my older Z Fold 3 next to it I noticed the device was larger in ways that were not flattering and smaller in ways that limited productivity. The slightly, but noticeably, larger screen is really what surprised me the most. I was already expecting better overall performance as I skipped upgrading over the 6 and 7. But, as I keep mentioning, the larger display really does mimic a slab from my note 10+ days something I had come to miss but wouldn't trade off the massive innerscreen as I use this device as my main device for browsing websites. Where the sometimes smaller is better comes in is when you compare the two devices in thickness. Now, I didn't really mind the thickness of the Fold 5 as it was very similar if not identical to my Fold 3. However, the new device is much slimmer which I would say oddly adds a premium feel to my Fold 8 Ultra. The screens on the Fold 8 Ultra are very bright which is clear when I compare them to my old devices. The PPI also seems to be more dense even though I haven't looked at the specs to see if I'm just imagining this. Great quality all around. Ultimately I would recommend the upgrade if you're coming from a 5 to an 8. I cannot tell you to do so if you have a 6 or 7 because I have no experience with those devices.
