Galaxy Z Fold8

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I chose the Galaxy Z-Fold 8 over the 8 Ultra, because I wanted the pocket size feeling of the Z-Flip, with the convenience of the fold-out full screen. I watch a lot of YouTube videos to learn, read kindle books and fly often, so it's very convenient to have a phone, kindle size screen and tablet in one. It's a dream to have it all in a pocket size! The new width of the closed front screen makes it very comfortable to read and type without needing to fold the phone open. I find myself using it closed a lot more than before, saving battery life. Thanks, Samsung, for creating such a perfectly sized fold phone!

The hinge is super important and I will ensure that it is always protectedlastly the responsiveness is fast the only issue is when the cover is on the buttons are not not readily or easily accessible as the cover is in the way. I opted for the z fold 8 instead of the ultra as I have had always the same ie ultra. The price and size compared is 100 % better choice as I got the z fold 8 512MB

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am blown away by this phone so far. For years I've said the trend of huge phones that just get taller is frustrating. They're uncomfortable and impractical. This is the perfect form factor - so easy to hold, and the large folded out screen is amazing. Most importantly, it's a true joy to use folded as well because the screen is a perfect size. Feels great in the pocket too. So far the hinge has only creased a little so I just hope it's durable over time. If so, it's perfect. Not gone below 50% battery with moderate use on both screens, including games. Samsung, kudos. This is a game changer!

With the ultra the screen is too narrow and i feel i need to open it more than i should. The crease is barely visible at the moment which is great. Not sure how this will be over time. Battery life is good last me the day. The hinge is very keen not sure im confortable with the forceful opening. Its alot lighter than my previous phone so durability is yet to be determined. But with this being so light im worried for how it would stand up to being dropped. With the 1tb 16gb it feel rapid when it comes to responsiveness.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm loving this new phone, the display is great on the front screen and really comes to life when you unfold it, the hinge/fold in the main screen is totally unnoticeable. The size of the phone i thought maybe too wide, but I was mistaken it fits great in my pockets and feels good in the hand. The battery seems great too as I've had this since Monday (now Thursday night) and have been constantly using it and setting it all up etc. I have only charged it twice. It feels very well made, responsive and only time will tell if it's durability will be enough. But so far 5 Stars from me 😍

The battery time is longer than I expected. The keyboard layout on the unfolded screen is perfect. Love that there is no line on the display around the hinge. The responsiveness between small screen and open screen is seamless. 4/5 stars only because I would love this screen to be able to have a stylus.

A big part is office work on the go including Teams, Outlook and CRM activities. With its new form factor it's easy to run a meeting and then do my email follow ups. Using social media apps are a breeze and the expanded display is vivid and smooth visually. The camera works great and the pictures are are crisp looking even in lower light. I love how the front screen is super useful and can run apps, get notifications without having to open the full phone. So far it's a great phone. I can now read attachments straight from email in full view and be more efficient with my time. The hinge seems very strong and does not impare any viewing on the main screen. The phone is compact and folded is smaller that me Galaxy S24 Ultra which is a plus, however, when unfolded provides a more substantial viewing screen.

I chose to upgrade from my Z Fold 5, and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. I thought that the Fold 5 was the best phone I had ever owned, but the Fold 8 quickly surpassed it. So easy to set up and transfer from my old phone. The folded size is brilliant, providing a smaller (but still spacious) area, but I still have the option to unfold the phone and utilize the HUGE landscape display. So much easier to use apps side-by-side. This phone really has it all. Absolutely thrilled with my purchase.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I chose the z fold8, and the screen aspect ratio is a huge upgrade. ​The shorter, wider cover screen actually feels like a real albeit smaller phone, so typing isn't cramped anymore. Inside, the main screen opens up to a proper tablet shape instead of a weirdly tall square. That extra width makes reading, browsing, and watching videos way better. ​The Z Fold8 Ultra is just too awkwardly shaped for me. The standard Fold8 is much more practical day to day and gives you a true tablet experience when unfolded.

However the fold 8 is a fantastic addition to the line up, it fits so much more nicely into a pocket, and I don't feel I need to open it to take photos. The battery life so far is is tremendous, I get 2 days from a full charge. The display is crisp, bright, and the screen is as responsive as ever for a samsung device. All in all a great purchase. I even bought a second one for my wife, and recommended a colleague get one. Who subsequently has moving from iPhone in the process.

It is beautiful and everyone that sees it is immediately amazed by its thin size, light weight, passport size but that opens into a beautiful tablet. The fold crease is seamless and is a very elegant phone. The battery seems to last forever, and the new ai and smart features are the cherry on top of the cake. I did not have a fold before as I thought they were too bulky but this one is smaller than my previous galaxy24+. I'm really happy with it and would recommend it to anyone looking to upgrade their phone.

With the fold it’s easy to see everything clearly and thus don’t always need my glasses to see what I’m doing. So far the battery life is showing to be good and as I use my phone constantly that’s a bonus. Hope this phone lasts me as long as my last one, which I had for five years! Loved it so much I didn’t want a new one, but it was time and so far this one is much better. Still I have much to learn about all the capabilities of my new phone. Being of the older generation I will take my time.

I chose to be part of the z series family starting with the fold 2. I have always been...ok....with it's tall form factor but secretly admired the shape of the pixel fold. When they announced the fold 8....I knew I had to choose this one. Folds are .ore than just an option, they are a multitask necessity. I have chosen to continue being a good user and I do not think I will go back. Great job samsung! Proud to be a galaxy fan since the s2 and Samsung user since the blackjack 2.

For the first time ever I can use the front screen. I have arthritis so my fingers have always been too cumbersome to use the narrow front screen, this one is a completely different experience. The phone is just a pleasure, everything is just so smooth, i find myself looking for excuses to use it. I cant think of one negative thing to say. If you're thinking of getting it, do it, you won't regret it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the perfect phone/tablet for me, it's given me a really decent lightweight android version of an iPad mini that does everything I need a small tablet to do which just so happens to fold in half and fit perfectly in my pocket, then in phone mode it's got such a great outer display that works so well for photos, maps, pdfs, browser etc etc. it's so thin and light it's ridiculous that it's even possible! Battery life is so good easily a day sometimes even two, Screen quality is perfect, hinge feels great, I could go on and on and on

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Blown away by the Z Fold8 , great form factor and size, the inner display is absolutely beautiful and in a small way feels it quite large, its the first foldable im really happy with, it's built for durability and just feels solid, with a solid hinge and yet easier to handle than previous versions. The battery holds up well considering I've been on it all the time and it is yet to improve still. I would love to see Samsung Dex running natively on the inner display, it would be a total game changer, I also feel this form factor deserves the reintroduction of the sPen on the foldables, the cover screen is perfect for scribbling notes and the inner display for the inner artist. Furthermore, im very happy with my decision on the Fold8, I shall not look back...

Then after several different slab phones. I decided to try the Z Flip 5 then upgraded to the Z Flip7. This Z Fold 8 is the best of both worlds! The cover screen is enough to do your daily things like texting, phone calls, returning emails, and running apps. Then when you open is up....it's nice to have a bigger screen to watch videos and do multi-tasking. It's like having 2 for 1! Phone and mini tablet all in one device! This is such a game changer! Yes people will complain about the cameras. If you want a better camera go spend the money on a digital camera. This camera is enough to take pictures and post them online or send it to family. Honestly, for me, this such an amazing device! Great job Samsung!

Let me tell you the new wide display is a game changer. I can do almost everything on it, but when I do need a larger display for multi tasking or watching movies it's good to have the option of only carrying one device. This is an excellent choice, if you are not sure if you should get it, just do it, you won't regret it.

It's easier to reach the top, watch videos and hold. It's so lightweight and doesn't weigh down my bag and pocket nearly as much as my S24 Ultra. I don't think I will ever not have a fold again. I got the lavender color and it is absolutely stunning. Overall, I highly recommend this phone, I have absolutely zero complaints only positives!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] it's without doubt the greatest phone I've ever had, the dimensions of the new shape make it extremely small and pocketable, it becomes a mini tablet and it's the proportions. I've always had fold phones but they never quite worked perfectly. I've still like them however, due to being great multitaskers but this is on a different level when it comes to productivity and how you use the phone whether vertically or in landscape and it is just an absolutely fantastic device, super light, a good battery, it's a brilliant all-rounder and I play a lot of SimCity so from that perspective it's perfect. I've also linked my gaming backbone controller which isn't the perfect fit as you need to open the screen slightly to allow it which is a bit of a shame. However, it's still a fantastic device and a brilliant all-rounder. I think next year Samsung shoulo consider making this a premium device or at least equal to the Ultra, it needs to sort the cameras out. I know this was the test case but you've now quickly learned that this is the popular one so fix the cameras and you are winning.

When folded, it feels much more comfortable to hold and fits easily in my pocket, making it practical for everyday use. It still opens into a large display when I need it for multitasking, videos, or reading, so I get the best of both worlds. Samsung did a great job making the Fold8 feel like a normal phone without sacrificing the benefits of a foldable. Definitely my favorite Fold so far.

I wish the phone had come with better camera though. Also I was not too happy that the incentive to trade in got better after the first day of pre-order which I was a part of. what's the point of day one pre-order if the offering will get better after day one pre-order? Anyways, outside of that Fold 8 is great.

The z fold 8 seems to have solved both of these issues and may be my new form factor for the foreseeable future.

The large inner display is fantastic for reading, watching videos, multitasking, and getting real work done, while the outer screen is perfect for quick everyday use. The phone feels incredibly polished and premium, the performance is fast and responsive, and switching between screens and apps is seamless. I especially love being able to run multiple apps at once without everything feeling cramped. Despite all the technology packed into it, it still feels practical enough to use every day. There is a small learning curve when moving from a traditional phone, but after using the Fold 8, a normal phone already feels limiting. Samsung did an outstanding job with this one.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've upgraded from the S24 Ultra and despite some initial reservations about the durability and form factor, I've been proven wrong and couldn't be happier with the device. This form factor feels like the way forward. Amazing display. I had some reservations about the 4:3 aspect ratio but every app I've used so far displays perfectly, and is fully responsive. Apps such as Strava definitely look better when the device is unfolded and in portrait orientation. Overall, the shorter form factor makes the decice way more portable. I would caveat this with I do prefer the font on my device quite small, I think if you prefer larger font sizes you may lose some screen real estate. Typing on the keyboard is also very comfortable. I've found I actually use the device closed more than I do unfolded. When I do unfold the device; it's fantastic for media consumption; YouTube, gaming, reading all 10/10 and I'm also pleased with the battery life, the fast charging tops up the battery quickly, this was another of my main worries moving from the S24 Ultra. When folding and unfolding the hinge and durability overall is surprisingly strong, to the point where the device also works with external wrap around controllers, such as the GameSir X-5 making this device a real powerhouse for game streaming.

The cover screen ration is perfect and I've been waiting for another phone to use this form factor for years. Samsung knocked it out of the park and brought their highly polished and extremely customizable experience along with them. I was sold the minute I saw the Fold 8. I'm finding I'm not having to open it as much as my previous z fold 3 as the front screen is a decent size. Others have commented how much sharper the video calls are, really enjoying this phone 4 days in so far, have charged it a couple of times. The format just works and feels perfect in your hand. Once you open up to the main screen something you don't notice, if you're looking for it, is the crease. The technology used to reduce the visibility and feel of the crease is a huge step forward, as is the anti reflective coating and brightness of the screen. Despite all that I keep switching back to the front screen and just smiling at it's perfection!
