And I am so glad I did. The form factor is far better, it's lighter, the display is epic, the crease is nearly non-existent, the battery is superb and holding the device in the hand is great. It's easily pocketable and is very snappy to use, very responsive and so far, I cannot say enough great things about it. I had questions about the camera but for standard photography, I really can't complain. I don't use a zoom lens so I don't miss the added camera in the Fold 8 Ultra. Superb all round device!

                  [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had the Fold 6 and thought moving to the Fold 7 was an evolution change, but moving to the Fold 8, wow! The size is perfect, it fits into your hand and looks right. Then you open it up and it transforms, pictures, video and books just fit the this screen ratio. The hinge works better than the Fold 7, opening easier and snaps open. The crease I have forgotten about. I didn't notice it on the Fold 7, but the screen is so much better. I never thought the Fold 7 was a slouch but the 8 seems so much more smoother and responsive. One UI 9 has some great improvements and the integration with the AI makes tasks and work flow so much easier.

                  [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Having held onto my S23 Ultra for the last 3 years, I was very tempted by the Z Fold 8 Ultra! However, in the end I opted for the Z Fold 8 because the form factor felt different. I am obsessed with how good this phone is to use just with the external screen and use that easily 80% but possibly 90% of the time. The battery is currently lasting me 2 days which is outstanding for such a small form factor. The foldable screen once opened is then truly something special. The phone is brilliantly responsive between screens and feels seamless. The camera is really only average when trying to zoom, but for normal photos of subjects nearby is perfectly acceptable.

The the passport size came along, yes a little larger than the flip 7, but omg the size is just perfect, the display is great and bright, battery is night and day to my old flip 7 and the hinge just feels more premium and it fis in my pocket. It's the perfect middle ground and know am going to continue to love this phone.

                  [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The smaller display of the front screen is a refreshing change in terms of how it fits in my hand when using it with one hand and the responsiveness of app continuity is great when changing between the two screens which is also helped by the snappy feel of the new hinge. I was at first cautious when using the inside larger screen due to older folding screens feeling delicate but the durability has been massively improved. The battery life of the phone is very comparable if not better than my previous phone, the iphone 16 plus which i got the larger size for the battery, so i dont have to be worried about using the new phone for productivity and media streaming all day and still have charge left until i go to sleep.

My Lavander colour tiny piece of tech Fold 8 is a masterpiece indeed 🫠 The "passport phone" stays charged almost 20 hours, fits perfectly in my hands ( girl hands, btw) , and now I have turned it pink all over, from the cover, to the screen 😄 I can't remember since I have written messages with both hands, and I love it . The z fold 8 is a nice miniature productivity powerhouse that can easily fit in my pocket. Taking quick notes, creating tasks on ticktick, feel better and more natural on the wider cover screen. Watching video and reviewing PDF files, Word documents, spreadsheets on the inner 7.6 in inner screen is also great, even better when you rotate it from landscape to portrait. Over all this is a nice well rounded phone and a lot of people can make use of this phone no matter the situation or location.

I watch a lot of YouTube videos to learn, read kindle books and fly often, so it's very convenient to have a phone, kindle size screen and tablet in one. It's a dream to have it all in a pocket size! The new width of the closed front screen makes it very comfortable to read and type without needing to fold the phone open. I find myself using it closed a lot more than before, saving battery life. They're uncomfortable and impractical. This is the perfect form factor - so easy to hold, and the large folded out screen is amazing. Most importantly, it's a true joy to use folded as well because the screen is a perfect size. Feels great in the pocket too. So far the hinge has only creased a little so I just hope it's durable over time. If so, it's perfect. Not gone below 50% battery with moderate use on both screens, including games. Samsung, kudos. This is a game changer!

With the ultra the screen is too narrow and i feel i need to open it more than i should. The crease is barely visible at the moment which is great. Not sure how this will be over time. Battery life is good last me the day. The hinge is very keen not sure im confortable with the forceful opening. Its alot lighter than my previous phone so durability is yet to be determined. But with this being so light im worried for how it would stand up to being dropped. With the 1tb 16gb it feel rapid when it comes to responsiveness.

A big part is office work on the go including Teams, Outlook and CRM activities. With its new form factor it's easy to run a meeting and then do my email follow ups. Using social media apps are a breeze and the expanded display is vivid and smooth visually. The camera works great and the pictures are are crisp looking even in lower light. The size of the phone i thought maybe too wide, but I was mistaken it fits great in my pockets and feels good in the hand. The battery seems great too as I've had this since Monday (now Thursday night) and have been constantly using it and setting it all up etc. I have only charged it twice. It feels very well made, responsive and only time will tell if it's durability will be enough. But so far 5 Stars from me 😍

This is my first foldable device and to be honest, I've been reluctant to make the switch but boy am I glad I did. The cover display on its own is so useful, I find I use it for every day stuff like emails and answering messages. But when I want to do a bit more, I open the phone and use that amazing large screen. That hinge mechanism is a thing of beauty! Battery life has been solid and is getting better each day as the phone optimises things. On my third charge I had about 35% left at the end of the day. Performance wise, the responsiveness of the display and OneUI is so slick and speedy. Awesome. My one remaining question mark is over durability but that will be answered in the time to come. The device certainly feels solid so I am expecting good things.

I chose to upgrade from my Z Fold 5, and I couldn't be happier with my purchase. I thought that the Fold 5 was the best phone I had ever owned, but the Fold 8 quickly surpassed it. So easy to set up and transfer from my old phone. The folded size is brilliant, providing a smaller (but still spacious) area, but I still have the option to unfold the phone and utilize the HUGE landscape display. So much easier to use apps side-by-side. This phone really has it all. Absolutely thrilled with my purchase.

I can now read attachments straight from email in full view and be more efficient with my time. The hinge seems very strong and does not impare any viewing on the main screen. The phone is compact and folded is smaller that me Galaxy S24 Ultra which is a plus, however, when unfolded provides a more substantial viewing screen.

I have always been...ok....with it's tall form factor but secretly admired the shape of the pixel fold. When they announced the fold 8....I knew I had to choose this one. Folds are .ore than just an option, they are a multitask necessity. I have chosen to continue being a good user and I do not think I will go back. Great job samsung! However the fold 8 is a fantastic addition to the line up, it fits so much more nicely into a pocket, and I don't feel I need to open it to take photos. The battery life so far is is tremendous, I get 2 days from a full charge. The display is crisp, bright, and the screen is as responsive as ever for a samsung device. All in all a great purchase. I even bought a second one for my wife, and recommended a colleague get one. Who subsequently has moving from iPhone in the process.

                  [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I chose the z fold8, and the screen aspect ratio is a huge upgrade. ​The shorter, wider cover screen actually feels like a real albeit smaller phone, so typing isn't cramped anymore. Inside, the main screen opens up to a proper tablet shape instead of a weirdly tall square. That extra width makes reading, browsing, and watching videos way better. ​The Z Fold8 Ultra is just too awkwardly shaped for me. The standard Fold8 is much more practical day to day and gives you a true tablet experience when unfolded.

It is beautiful and everyone that sees it is immediately amazed by its thin size, light weight, passport size but that opens into a beautiful tablet. The fold crease is seamless and is a very elegant phone. The battery seems to last forever, and the new ai and smart features are the cherry on top of the cake. I did not have a fold before as I thought they were too bulky but this one is smaller than my previous galaxy24+. I'm really happy with it and would recommend it to anyone looking to upgrade their phone.

With the fold it’s easy to see everything clearly and thus don’t always need my glasses to see what I’m doing. So far the battery life is showing to be good and as I use my phone constantly that’s a bonus. Hope this phone lasts me as long as my last one, which I had for five years! Loved it so much I didn’t want a new one, but it was time and so far this one is much better. Still I have much to learn about all the capabilities of my new phone. I love how it looks, I love how it feels and the whole experience of using it is a joy. For the first time ever I can use the front screen. I have arthritis so my fingers have always been too cumbersome to use the narrow front screen, this one is a completely different experience. The phone is just a pleasure, everything is just so smooth, i find myself looking for excuses to use it. I cant think of one negative thing to say. The battery holds up well considering I've been on it all the time and it is yet to improve still. I would love to see Samsung Dex running natively on the inner display, it would be a total game changer, I also feel this form factor deserves the reintroduction of the sPen on the foldables, the cover screen is perfect for scribbling notes and the inner display for the inner artist. Furthermore, im very happy with my decision on the Fold8, I shall not look back...

The display is stunning, both inside and out, and the larger screen is fantastic for multitasking, reading documents and watching videos. Then after several different slab phones. I decided to try the Z Flip 5 then upgraded to the Z Flip7. This Z Fold 8 is the best of both worlds! When folded, it feels much more comfortable to hold and fits easily in my pocket, making it practical for everyday use. It still opens into a large display when I need it for multitasking, videos, or reading, so I get the best of both worlds. Samsung did a great job making the Fold8 feel like a normal phone without sacrificing the benefits of a foldable. Definitely my favorite Fold so far.

                  [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] it's without doubt the greatest phone I've ever had, the dimensions of the new shape make it extremely small and pocketable, it becomes a mini tablet and it's the proportions. I've always had fold phones but they never quite worked perfectly. I've still like them however, due to being great multitaskers but this is on a different level when it comes to productivity and how you use the phone whether vertically or in landscape and it is just an absolutely fantastic device, super light, a good battery, it's a brilliant all-rounder and I play a lot of SimCity so from that perspective it's perfect. I've also linked my gaming backbone controller which isn't the perfect fit as you need to open the screen slightly to allow it which is a bit of a shame. However, it's still a fantastic device and a brilliant all-rounder. I think next year Samsung shoulo consider making this a premium device or at least equal to the Ultra, it needs to sort the cameras out. I know this was the test case but you've now quickly learned that this is the popular one so fix the cameras and you are winning.

I'm finding I'm not having to open it as much as my previous z fold 3 as the front screen is a decent size. Others have commented how much sharper the video calls are, really enjoying this phone 4 days in so far, have charged it a couple of times. The crease is not visible, the phone is thinner and much lighter than my previous phone, the hinge feels tighter, the phone feels durable - time will tell.

The format just works and feels perfect in your hand. Once you open up to the main screen something you don't notice, if you're looking for it, is the crease. The technology used to reduce the visibility and feel of the crease is a huge step forward, as is the anti reflective coating and brightness of the screen. Despite all that I keep switching back to the front screen and just smiling at it's perfection!

                  [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've upgraded from the S24 Ultra and despite some initial reservations about the durability and form factor, I've been proven wrong and couldn't be happier with the device. This form factor feels like the way forward. Amazing display. I had some reservations about the 4:3 aspect ratio but every app I've used so far displays perfectly, and is fully responsive. Apps such as Strava definitely look better when the device is unfolded and in portrait orientation. Overall, the shorter form factor makes the decice way more portable. I would caveat this with I do prefer the font on my device quite small, I think if you prefer larger font sizes you may lose some screen real estate. Typing on the keyboard is also very comfortable. I've found I actually use the device closed more than I do unfolded. When I do unfold the device; it's fantastic for media consumption; YouTube, gaming, reading all 10/10 and I'm also pleased with the battery life, the fast charging tops up the battery quickly, this was another of my main worries moving from the S24 Ultra. When folding and unfolding the hinge and durability overall is surprisingly strong, to the point where the device also works with external wrap around controllers, such as the GameSir X-5 making this device a real powerhouse for game streaming.

The larger foldable display is perfect for multitasking, reading, streaming, and getting work done without carrying a tablet. Prior to this smaller 8..the 6 was my favorite.. but I think I have finally found a keeper! I am not interested in the tri fold..and just wanted something with a bit more real estate than a standard phone. This fold is the one! Perfect size..feels good in hand now if the battery will just last a bit longer I will be in heaven! Thank you Samsung!

The display is really good, nice clean clear picture on both screens. Hinge is stiff but not too bad, enough to not accidentally open it Durability is good, feels like a good sturdy phone to use Responsiveness is exactly as you expect from a new phone. Upgraded from Samsung S23 and so happy I did. Though my S23 was still perfect, I watch tv a lot so this is better suited

It is wider, shorter, and feels much closer to typing on a standard slab phone. I can easily navigate with one hand, type without thumb cramps, and slip the device into any pocket without it feeling awkward.

I have only one complaint, and it's that the cameras could be better. other than that, this phone is literally perfect! I traded in my z fold 7 for this new shaped z fold 8 and have zero regrets!

I'll hold it horizontally for YouTube and when I want to scroll apps like Instagram turning the phone 90 degrees makes it a breeze Another thing I'm appreciating is the shape of the phone when it's folded. The shorter and wider form factor makes it so much easier to navigate and utilize apps with the cover screen. I don't feel like I need to unfold my phone every time just to send a text message.

Also, I wish this phone had the sonic fingerprint sensor like the other newer galaxy lineups. Battery is mid tier, once the new ones get the silicone battery I'm sure it will be better. Overall I'm happy with my purchase and can't wait for the newer models. One more thing, the hinge is not as transparent as before but it's still noticeable which compared to the new oppo products, this fails in comparison.

Ive had iphones and pixels. My only complaint with my previous fold 5 was that it was difficult texting with such a small keyboard the phone needed to be opened to even use. Since ive been using the fold 8 i havent opened it more than 5 times and mostly for videos which are huge. Im surprised the wider fold 8 isnt the ultra its better in my opinion.

Take a bit of getting used to but again Samsung have pulled it off and it's great. The hinge is strong and durable and the crease you can hardly see at all. Display is great for watching films, YouTube gaming anything you need to do. It's so responsive too.

I was already considering it with the Fold 7, but with this new Fold 8, the passport-like display is perfect for everyday use, and it's responsiveness is great too with the new snapdragon processor. I get that after a while, the crease will start to show, but with the new hinge the crease is significantly less noticeable than last gen.

Still inputting passwords etc, but that is standard with all new phones. The display is very clear and the bonus was that the front screen can be used as an interactive screen. The battery life is an improvement on my old A53, the new display takes a bit of getting used to, but that again will come in time. So far a very good and durable phone.

I am so glad I saw the potential and future of this device. Unpacked it just got better and better. The look is outstanding, the feel divine. The switch was so smooth and quick. Great battery life over what I've had - but you do really need to buy an up to date magnetic charger for it. Now! It's durability is a time related issue, so all I can say is 'looking good so far'.

Still comfortable to hold when open, but I can go all day not opening it if need be. I absolutely love it. Fits in my scrub pocket at work and a small purse while out.
