I switched my Kingston out for this as it ran better so it is my main memory. Throughput is excellent I have filled it up, move data to a different storage and this thing 100 times and it's still going just as strong as it did when I first bought it. I have used it in my laptop and now it is my main and my desktop. So great compatibility with different machines.

Only complaints are that there is less support for the amd platfrom and the heatsink has an untoggleable red led which is a nuisance for me but may not matter to others. As far as thermals, this one comes with its own heatsink but id rather have one than not, its got a very strong style.

I moved large game files, edited videos, and copied backups, and the speed didn’t randomly drop in a way I’ve seen with older SSDs. It just felt predictable, which made me trust it more for daily work. Efficiency What surprised me was how little it seemed to “struggle” under load. I could download, unzip, and run apps at the same time without feeling like the system was slowing down. It made my PC feel more responsive overall, especially when multitasking heavy tasks. Latency Opening games and large applications felt almost instant. I didn’t sit there waiting for loading screens like I used to with older SSDs. Even small actions like searching through files or launching editing software felt snappier, like the system was reacting immediately to what I clicked. Thermals I was a bit worried about heat at first, especially during long file transfers. In real use, it does warm up under heavy loads, but it never felt like it was throttling in a way I could notice. With decent airflow, it stayed controlled and stable. Samsung magician bench tests show speeds of 7600mbps on both read and write but true tests show much less. The ssd wouldnt hit anything over 700mbps. I love samsung products but for the price I paid, I am very disappointed. It stays around 44c under load.

Make sure to install latest edition of samsung magician to benchmark and test this drive. Magician keeps it updated and running smoothly and efficiently. I installed it as my only drive on a asus tuf gaming x570-pro running windows 11 pro and using only a boot disk to install the OS did not have any problems at all. No compatibility issues at all.

Top notch performance you'd expect from a high end storage device. Able to store a lot of games (not all, but quite a few) and load them at speeds faster than anything else out there. Haven't had issues with it. Just make sure you download and run the magician software to update the firmware at least once and you're good to go.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Upgraded from the 980 2TB back in Jul 2024 and I haven’t looked back! The 4tb minimum is the way to go no degrade no lag just pure top tier performance you expect from a Samsung product. BF6, RE4, COD, AC all cruise without so much as a hiccup for hours on end. No overheat, no wear heatsink keeps the drive cool. The read wrote is blazing fast and loading screens? Gone I’ll never move to another product line most reliable SSD in the game.

The heatsink is a nice touch; it's good to know that while my life is a dumpster fire, my SSD is staying nice and cool. The 1TB capacity was plenty for me because I use my desktop for school work and light gaming. The heatsink has been excellent at keeping my unit cool and efficient.

Cooling has been excellent and the 1TB capacity has been more than enough for me. It was easy to setup and install. Going from the big bulky HDD to this SSD has increased efficiency and room in my desktop.

I have not observed any issues with drive overheating, as temperatures consistently remain around 40 degrees Celsius. While 4 terabytes is a substantial capacity, the increasing size of modern games suggests that this may become a limiting factor in the future. The drive has been consistently detected upon every system startup.

To think then that we would have exceptional speed and stability like this in just 3 decades, it would've been so outrageous. Temps never get hot, I have never had a driver issue, or an identity crisis with the motherboard.
