If your Samsung Galaxy device suddenly does not turn on, it may be caused by a temporary software freeze during use, a fully drained battery, a system malfunction, or, in some cases, a hardware issue related to the device’s circuitry.

Your phone may be frozen due to a temporary software issue.

Press and hold the Power (Side) button and the Volume Down button at the same time for at least 7 seconds. The phone will restart, and when the Samsung logo appears and the device vibrates, release the buttons.

Note:

  • If the buttons are not pressed at the same time, the volume bar or power menu may appear.
  • Remove your case if it prevents pressing both buttons properly.

The battery may be fully discharged. Connect a Samsung-certified charger and cable.

  • If the battery is completely drained, the charging indicator (lightning icon) may not appear on the screen.
  • Even if nothing appears on the screen, continue charging the device.

Note: Use only Samsung-approved chargers and cables. Do not use any worn or damaged chargers or cables. Incompatible charger or cable can cause serious injuries or damage to your device.

Charging may not work properly due to an issue with the charger or cable. If you have a spare charger and cable, try using them to charge your device, then turn it on.
